She created Expression Against Oppression as a way to give voices to local BIPOC artists around town. I was fortunate to work with her and she gave me my first opportunity for a painted commisioned mural located at Urbanite.&nbsp; This was an opportunity&nbsp; to express joy and movement though color and space. (Alberta Street) The unveiling of this mural was part of the Portland Light Festival. This was a collaborative effort&nbsp; between Megan Sinnott (Portland Made), Shana McCollough (ShanaDesign Co), Chris Dibble (Stockpiler) and Jubal (MakersUnion &amp; CarpentryPDX). Aisha Kieta the owner of Dime and Penny, which is a thrift store/bargain marketplace acquired the abandoned building as an opportunity to start her business. I decided to take part in the project because that building used to be Island Foods a Caribbean market that my mom used to go to. After it got shut down the building became dilapidated and a cite where frequent drug trafficking would happen.
